Jyoti Shines A Light: Maggie Aldrich
We’re opening our hearts as another beautiful soul joins the Jyoti Family!
Maggie Aldrich participated in a spontaneous yoga class with a friend and hasn’t stopped moving, flowing and stretching ever since. This impactful hour of peace and inspiration led Maggie to the successful completion of a 200-Hour Certification. Maggie has so many incredible gifts to share with our community including her bright smile and positive outlook!
Maggie’s superpower is her ability to listen and she is pretty sure that she was a farmer in another life. Most recently Maggie has been leading our Detox Flow on Sundays and Wednesdays. This unique class is designed to promote detoxification within the body through a series of twisting and compression asanas that will cleanse vital organs. You can pre-register here to save your space.
Bring balance into your life by joining Maggie for a Detox Flow this week and ask her about her favorite asana (which at the moment is crow pose!). But first, let’s read up on Maggie’s inspirations and perspective below…
What made you fall in love with taking care of your body?
I fell in love with taking care of my body when I first started running regularly. I felt so good about myself inside and out after a good run and it made me realize the power of taking care of my body.
What does self-care mean to you?
To me, self-care means listening to your gut and making decisions that align with your body, mind and heart’s desires.
What inspires you most?
I am most inspired by my friends and loved ones’ personal ambitions and individual interests. The fact that I am loved and supported by those closest to me keeps me focused on my journey to move forward.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Nothing is permanent and everything is temporary so try new things and take risks whether you think you may like it or not. This leads me to my motto of “keep shining and keep smiling!”
How do you ignite your inner light?
I ignite my inner light by taking care of my body which is a vessel for that inner light. I also like to read and write which allows me to learn more about topics that interest me as well as be creative. This light shines so strong that I could emit my feelings of love through my biggest and warmest embrace if I did not have the ability to speak.
