Jyoti Shines A Light: Gianna Zuffante

When you choose to spend an hour with someone (like in a yoga class), the experience can be enhanced if you know a bit more about them. At Jyoti, all our teachers are powerful beings. Each one has their unique gifts and approach to sharing those gifts. We are proud to have so many talented and beautiful members of our teaching community, including our recent addition to the team, Gianna Zuffante.

Gianna believes she was a pack animal in her previous life, possibly a lion. Perhaps this is why she has such a deep connection to her dog Lucy. So, if you are searching for a topic to ignite Gianna’s infectious smile, ask her about Lucy – her best friend, adventure buddy, and protector!

Gianna turned to yoga when she realized a clear mind would help her journey to get more out of life. She has an incredibly supporting and loving family with whom she has lots of fun and remains grateful to have one another.

What made you fall in love with taking care of your body?

The ability to move my body made me fall in love with taking care of it. So often, we take mobility, breath, and life for granted. I wanted to honor these blessings by staying intimately connected with movement.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Self-care is doing what makes you happy. Asking yourself frequently, “Does this make you happy?” then doing something about the answer.

What inspires you most?

I’m inspired most by my friends and family. I want to be a positive force in their lives as well as others. It’s not enough for me to just live my best life. I want to be an inspiration to help others do the same. I love to make people smile… in fact, I believe that is my superpower!

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I ever received is “let go and let God!”

I am not a very religious person, but the idea of letting go and letting it happen has helped me relieve anxiety. Especially when letting go of things you cannot change. It’s freeing!

How do you ignite your inner light?

I ignite my inner light by letting go of what doesn’t serve me and go for things that make me happy. Once you can trust yourself and notice what make you feel good, your true self shows!

The light within comes out, and you connect with the positive energy of the world. Deciding to become a yoga instructor and an actor and taking that leap of faith is a perfect example of igniting my inner lights. I genuinely feel that light within! I am passionate about these aspects of my life, and I know that light shows.
