Jyoti Shines A Light: Jacqlyn Grace Melita
You’ve probably heard the phrase “grounded” thrown around quite a bit — and, no, we don’t mean it in the sense of getting in trouble with your parents and being made to stay in your room without TV or social media. Being grounded the way we talk about it is all about being connected to yourself and to the world around you so you can move through life in tune with what’s most important to you… and without totally losing your mind in the stress of the day-to-day. Finding strategies to help you stay grounded looks different for everyone, but we do our best to support our community in discovering what works best for them.
With that in mind, we have some great news! There’s a new member of the Jyoti team coming on board, and she’s bringing her special brand of grounding yoga to our studio. Starting on May 21, Jacqlyn Grace Melita will be joining us at Jyoti to lead a Grounding Grace Vinyasa class on Tuesday evenings at 6:15 p.m. Don’t miss out on the chance to practice with her! Register for an upcoming Tuesday evening here.
In the meantime, here’s a bit more about her…
What made you fall in love with taking care of your body?
When I found yoga, I understood that love is the bridge between me and all things. Once I loved myself completely, it made me feel wonderful and light and whole. This feeling made me fall in love with taking care of myself and my body. I feel so great mentally, physically, and spiritually after I take a yoga class.
What does self-care mean to you?
For me, self-care is about finding the balance to keep me grounded. It’s about finding whatever it may be that keeps you in harmony. As a matter of fact, Yoga with Jacqlyn is all about grounding. I describe it as a Grounding Grace Transformation for sustainable healing. It’s all about coming back to your own grace and your passions to live your truth and your best life.
What inspires you most?
My family inspires me the most. They steer me in the right direction and believe in my passions. Passion is what drives me and leads me to my purpose. I like to think that igniting passion in others is one of my superpowers!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
To keep the faith and continue to be myself.
How do you ignite your inner light?
I ignite my inner light by taking a step back, taking a deep breath, and finding gratitude for my life.
